The Dadaocheng Wharf, which connects to Tamsui River, is situated at the intersection of Huanhe North Road and Minsheng West Road (presently the location of Floodgate No.5). After they launched the Tamsui Wharf for commerce, foreign businesses swarmed in the Dadaocheng Wharf to locate themselves here, and therefore, set the foundation for Dadaocheng’s boom. It is now transformed into a recreational park for the public. In recent years, other than being a festive venue where fireworks are displayed, the Dadaocheng Wharf also holds a bikeway hemming Tamsui River. Visitors can cruise on bikes to enjoy a riverside ride and at the same time soak in the charm of antique Dadaocheng. Nearby the wharf, there are also other well-noted attractions like the Dadaocheng Historic Walk, as well as the Yongle and Dihua Market enticing visitors with a full dose of Dadaocheng’s good old days’ charm.
